Venice
To visit Venice is like entering an open air museum: wherever you cast your eye there are works of art of immense cultural value. St. Mark's Square, the beating heart of Venice, is a unique spectacle. To enjoy the tranquillity of this moment to the full, we suggest you sit down at one of the outdoor tables of the Caffè Florian, the oldest and most prestigious in Venice. Then you can dedicate your attention to the visit to the Ducal Palace and to St. Mark's Basilica. Among the innumerable places of interest in Venice, we recommend the celebrated Rialto Bridge, the ancient Ghetto and, of course, a walk along the Zattere as far as the Punta della Salute, where you can admire the whole of St. Mark's Basin.
To reach the old town centre of Venice from EurHotel is easy and fast: there is a bus to Venice every 20 minutes, which stops right in front of the Hotel!
Padova
Padova is a very interesting city well worth visiting, famous for the majestic Church of St. Anthony, the destination of pilgrimages made by the faithful from every corner of Europe, and for the splendid Scrovegni Chapel frescoed by Giotto. To be absolutely included in your itinerary are the Piazza dei Signori, Piazza delle Erbe, the Palazzo della Ragione and the spectacular Prato della Valle, one of the largest squares of Europe. And for a break we suggest a coffee and a few pastries at the Caffè Pedrocchi, one of the historic places in Padova.
Treviso
This is a gracious town, rich in history and ancient palaces with frescoed facades, crossed by water courses with picturesque bridges. The evocative Piazza dei Signori is the heart of the old town centre, overlooked by the Palazzo dei Trecento and the Torre Campanaria. Other interesting monuments are the Duomo and St. Catherine's Church.
The Brenta Riviera and the Venetian Villas
From the 1500s on, some of the patrician families of Venice ordered the construction of majestic residences along the Naviglio del Brenta, the canal that still links Venice and Padova today.
They built the Villa Sceriman Widmann, Villa Pisani, frescoed by Tiepolo and in the style of a royal palace, Villa Alessandri, with its baroque lodge, Villa Gradenigo and Villa Foscari, the architectural masterpiece of Palladio.
